Arizona State University - Even with Sarah Reaves’s 12 kills and Sydney Donahue collecting 15 digs, the Sun Devil Volleyball team wasn’t able to top the #5 UCLA Bruins Friday night in Los Angeles at Pauley Pavilion as the Bruins swept ASU 30-18, 30-21 and 30-25. The Sun Devils are now 8-7 on the year and 0-2 in Pac-10 play while UCLA advances to 12-1 and 2-0 in conference play.

Aztec Men’s Soccer Earn Shutout Over Missouri State |

Sophomore Jamel Wallace (San Diego/Oceanside HS) headed in a shot to the far left corner in the 78th minute to lift the San Diego State men’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Missouri State in the first game of the UNLV Tournament Friday night in Las Vegas, Nev. It was the third consecutive shutout for Brad Byrns and the Aztecs (3-2-1).

Senior forward Jackie Ragudos scored her third goal of the season with an assist from junior midfielder Alicia Piz to lead the San Diego State women’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory over San Jose State on Wednesday night at Spartan Stadium. With the help of another standout performance from freshman goalkeeper Aubree Southwick, who recorded her fourth shutout, SDSU improves its road record to 2-0-1, 3-2-2 overall.

 The Arizona Western College Lady Matadors' Volleyball team (13-5) swept Pima Community College (3-15) in straight games 30-16, 30-20, and 30-23. The Lady Mats were led by Ana Bauer (15) and Luci Toazzi (12) in kills.

San Diego State travels to the Aloha State this week for the seventh annual Big Wave Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 22, at Kaneohe Kipper Golf Course on Hawaii’s Marine Corps Base. The 4K race set for a 7:50 a.m. HT start will be the one and only for the Aztecs this season and will be their first trip to Hawaii since the 2003 season.

The Arizona Diamondbacks unveiled the Diamondbacks Youth Complex today and dedicated Brandon Webb Field, Chad Tracy Field, Rich Dozer Field and the Partners Field at the Reach 11 Sports Complex in Northeast Phoenix. This four-field complex includes two adaptive fields for youth with disabilities, making the complex the first of its kind in Arizona.
