AWC Football - Phoenix College Dumps Matadors 30-13

The Arizona Western College Matadors Football Team (0-4) dropped another hard fought gridiron battle to Phoenix Community College (1-3) on the road 13-30.  This game marked the 3rd consecutive win by Phoenix over AWC.

SDSU Football - Kevin O'Connell Destroys Portland State 52-17

San Diego State University Quarterback Kevin O'Connell completed 19 of 31 passes for 443 yards and threw five touchdowns passes to beat Portland State 52-17 for the Aztecs (1-2) first win on the season. The Portland State (1-3) Quarterback completed 36 of 53 for 408 yards with three interceptions to ad to this high-powered passing demonstration.

Football - Sun Devils Tame Beavers 44-32

ASU quarterback Rudy Carpenter threw for 361 yards and four touchdowns and Ryan Torain scored three touchdowns in Arizona State University’s (4-0) 44-32 win over Oregon State University (2-2) Torain rushed for 91 yards on 26 carries with a 41 yard scoring scamper in his return from injury. Oregon State moved the ball well, amassing 514 yards of offense, but gave the Sun Devils 6 turnovers.

AWC Soccer - Matadors Shutout Phoenix College in Victory 4-0

The Arizona Western College Matadors men's soccer team (3-6) shutout Phoenix Community College (5-5) by the score of 4-0. Abdel Becerra was dubbed “ Man of the Match” for the Matadors for his strong play and 2 goals.

Sun Devils Meet with President Bush at White House

The Arizona State University women’s track and field team celebrated its 2007 NCAA Indoor and 2007 NCAA Outdoor Championships with President George W. Bush at the White House Friday afternoon, meeting the Commander in Chief at a ceremony honoring several national championship teams in Washington, D.C.

Aztecs Down UNLV, 3-2, On Record-Setting Night

San Diego State University - On a night that saw an Aztec all-time career record broken and seven individual career bests set, San Diego State needed five games to defeat MWC co-leader UNLV, 3-2 (29-31, 30-26, 30-27, 28-30, 15-13), Friday evening in Peterson Gym. The match came down to the wire with just two points separating the teams in the deciding contest.

ASU Volleyball Falls To #5 UCLA

Arizona State University - Even with Sarah Reaves’s 12 kills and Sydney Donahue collecting 15 digs, the Sun Devil Volleyball team wasn’t able to top the #5 UCLA Bruins Friday night in Los Angeles at Pauley Pavilion as the Bruins swept ASU 30-18, 30-21 and 30-25. The Sun Devils are now 8-7 on the year and 0-2 in Pac-10 play while UCLA advances to 12-1 and 2-0 in conference play.

Aztec Men’s Soccer Earn Shutout Over Missouri State

Sophomore Jamel Wallace (San Diego/Oceanside HS) headed in a shot to the far left corner in the 78th minute to lift the San Diego State men’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Missouri State in the first game of the UNLV Tournament Friday night in Las Vegas, Nev. It was the third consecutive shutout for Brad Byrns and the Aztecs (3-2-1).
