In football, "The real action that takes place in the territory between the offensive and defensive lines is the most intense on the football field. Combat between the biggest men in the game can be hard quick and brutal. Unlike most of football photography, line play can be most often best shot close to the line of scrimmage. This allows you to focus in on the individual battles between players. Don’t hesitate to go in tight. This will give you great pictures of the arm-to-arm, hand-to-hand, face-to-face action."

AWC Volleyball - Matadors Flatten Mesa College

The 18th Ranked Arizona Western College Lady Matadors' Volleyball team (10-1) swept Mesa Community College (2-4) in straight games 30-24, 30-23, and 30-23. The Lady Mats were led by Ana Bauer (11) and Patty Paniagua (9), in kills.

AWC Soccer - Matadors Put Scare in Yavapai College

The Arizona Western College Matadors men's soccer team (1-5) lost to 3rd ranked Yavapai Community College (6-1) by the score of 2-1.  Goaltender Santiago Ruiz was dubbed “ Man of the Match” for the Matadors for his strong play in the net (9 saves).

Mariuci Toazzi named ACCAC Volleyball Co-Player of the Week

Yuma, Arizona - Arizona Western College announced that AWC Volleyball player Marluci (pronounced ‘mahr-LOO-see’) ‘Luci’ Toazzi has been named as ACCAC Volleyball Co-Player of the Week Award for her performances this past week. Toazzi (pronounced ‘toh-AH-zee’) shares the award this week with Glendale Lady Gauchos’ middle blocker Ashley Bates.

San Diego Chargers at New England Patriots Preview

A cross-country rivalry heats up again this weekend when the San Diego Chargers head to New England for a rematch against the team that knocked it out of the 2006 NFL Playoffs. The Bolts and Patriots will battle on Sunday, Sept. 16 before a national television audience on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:15 pm PDT.

San Diego Padres Postseason Ticket Purchase Data

The San Diego Padres announced that the team has received more than 50,000 total entries for the opportunity to purchase 2007 National League Division Series (NLDS) tickets. The random drawing affords winners the opportunity to purchase up to four tickets to one game of the NLDS at PETCO Park. Padres Executive Vice President for Business Operations Jeff Overton made the announcement.

Arizona Cardinals Sign Veteran Center Chukky Okobi

The Arizona Cardinals signed veteran center Chukky Okobi who played his college career at Purdue on Wednesday. The Pittsburgh Steelers released Okabi during training camp he had spent the past six seasons with the football team. Cardinal starting center Al Johnson injured his knee in Monday night's disappointing loss to San Francisco. Johnson is expected to miss next Sunday’s contest with the Seahawks
