This football game marred by turnovers and mental mistakes showcased the Arizona Western Matador football team (0-2) as gracious hosts. The Matadors spotted the Scottsdale Community College Artichokes 21 points in the 1st half and committed 5 turnovers in the contest.

The 18th Ranked Arizona Western College Lady Matadors' Volleyball team (8-1) swept Moorpark College in straight games 30-22 and 30-18. The Lady Mats were led by Patty Paniagua (11) in kills.

Football – Arizona State 33, Colorado 14

Rudy Carpenter threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns to help Arizona State defeat Colorado 33-14 on last night. Carpenter completed 19 of 37 passes and was intercepted once. Ryan Torain gained 91 yards on 17 rushing attempts and scored the Sun Devils lone rushing touchdown. Receiver Michael Jones had 6 catches for 96 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Football - Washington State 45, San Diego State 17

The San Diego State Aztec football team (0-1) scored first today marking the sixth time in the Chuck Long era (13 games) that San Diego State has scored first. The Aztecs entered the game 21-14 since 2002 when scoring first. SDSU senior tailback Brandon Bornes logged the longest run of his career with a 59-yard effort for a score in the first quarter.  Bornes’ previous longest run was for 41 yards versus Utah in 2004.  The 59-yard run is the team’s longest from scrimmage since Kevin O’Connell had a 61-yarder at Utah in 2005.
