Sandys and Grant Complete First Day of Decathlon at Pac-10 Multis

Tempe, Arizona - The 2009 Pac-10 Track & Field Championships got underway at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., on Saturday afternoon with two members of the Arizona State University program competing in the decathlon. Through the first five events of the 10-event competition, Jamie Sandys stands 12th overall with 3,234 points while Duggan Grant is 13th overall with 3,184 points.

Aztecs Defeat Falcons In Second Game of Weekend Series

San Diego, California - For the second straight day San Diego State pitchers kept the Air Force offense under wraps as the Aztec defeated the Falcons, 5-2, Saturday afternoon at Tony Gwynn Stadium. This time it was the trio of starter Ryan O’Sullivan and relievers Goldy Simmons and Addison Reed that limited the Academy to a pair of unearned runs on three hits.

Bats Come Alive in Aztec Softball's Victory Over UNLV

San Diego, California - The San Diego State softball team banged out 12 hits en route to a 7-1 victory over UNLV Saturday afternoon at SDSU Softball Stadium. The Aztecs improved to 33-18 with the win and 10-5 in the Mountain West Conference, including a 3-0 record against the Rebels (31-19, 7-8 MWC) this season by a combined 14-2 margin.

Welty's Homerun and Bach's Effort Power ASU Softball Over Oregon

Eugene, Oregon - Renee Welty's home run coupled with Hillary Bach's stellar outing in the circle resulted in a 5-1 win over the Oregon Ducks Saturday for the ninth-ranked ASU Softball Team. The win gives Bach her 24th of the year and closes out the 2009 regular season for the Sun Devils who currently hold a 40-16 overall record and 10-11 record in the Pac-10.

SDSU Women’s Tennis Drops Match In First Round of NCAA Championships

Los Angeles, California - The San Diego State womens tennis team fell to Washington, 4- 0, in Los Angeles in the first round of the Womens Tennis NCAA Championships at the Marks Tennis Center. The Aztecs made their 21st all-time appearance in the NCAA tournament on Saturday. SDSU finishes its season with a 17-9 overall record.
