Woodland, California - San Diego State senior water polo teammates Anna Gonzales and Jenna Schuster have captured all-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation accolades for their performance this season, the league office announced Monday. Gonzales was a second-team choice for the second consecutive year, while Schuster was an honorable mention selection.

Sun Devil Softball Offense Red-Hot Upend 2nd Ranked Stanford 10-1

Tempe, Arizona - Freshman Hillary Bach earned her 21st victory in the circle today giving up only one run in the first inning as the ASU offense went on to end the game early in five innings and upset the second-ranked Stanford Cardinal with a 10-1 victory today in Tempe. Leading the red hot offense was Krista Donnenwirth going 3-3 for the day tallying a home run to clinch the nine run lead in the second.

Taylor Secures Regional Berth in Shot Put at Beach Invitational

Norwalk, California - San Diego State’s Leanne Taylor posted a pair of NCAA West Regional qualifying marks at the Beach Invitational on Saturday at Cerritos College. The junior secured a regional berth in the shot put and posted her second qualifying effort in the discus at the one-day meet.

Chaney Sweeps Hurdles as Sun Devils Finish Strong at Mt. SAC Relays

Tempe, Arizona - Jasmine Chaney won her second hurdle race of the weekend and collected one of nine regional qualifying marks as the Arizona State University track and field team completed action at the 51st Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., on Saturday evening. Chaney, who lowered her personal-best time by 0.03 seconds, also was a part of two successful relays on the day, including the victorious 4x400m relay.

Arizona State Women’s Tennis Closes Dual Season With 6-1 Win Over University of Arizona

Tempe, Arizona - The 29th-ranked ASU Women’s Tennis team finished the dual season on a high note, with a strong win over in-state rival Arizona, 5-2. The conference match was the last 2009 home game for the Devils, as well as Senior Day, in which the team honored senior Laila Abdala. The match boosts the Devils to 11-8 (4-7 Pac-10), while dropping the Arizona Wildcats 10-10 (1-7 Pac 10).
