AFL Legacy Games Scheduled - American Football League

San Diego, California - The NFL announced today the 16 AFL Legacy Games that will be played during the 2009 NFL season. This season marks the 50th season for the eight original American Football League teams. As part of the celebration, the eight original AFL teams will wear historic uniforms during Legacy Games.

Angel Shamblin ACCAC Softball Coach of the Year Award Submits Resignation to AWC

Yuma, Arizona - Arizona Western College announced that AWC Head Softball Coach Angel Shamblin has officially submitted her resignation. Shamblin will stay on with the program until after AWC Commencement ceremonies May 15th. The announcement comes just one day after Shamblin completed her 2nd year at the helm by leading the Lady Matadors to their first Region I Playoff berth since 2006, and one week after she won the ACCAC Coach of the Year Award.

Kimee Clark Signed Official Letter of Intent to Attend Metro State University in Denver

Yuma, Arizona - Arizona Western College announced that AWC Volleyball player Kimee Clark has signed an official letter of intent to attend Metro State University in Denver, Colorado, and play volleyball for the Lady Roadrunners this coming fall. The announcement comes six months after the sophomore setter led the Lady Matadors to their 9th straight Region I Championship Game.

Marluci 'Luci' Toazzi Signs Letter of Intent with Houston Cougars

Yuma, Arizona - Arizona Western College announced that AWC Volleyball player Marluci ‘Luci’ Toazzi has officially signed her letter of intent to attend the University of Houston and play volleyball for the Lady Cougars this coming fall. The announcement comes six months after Toazzi ended her Matador career by leading the Lady Matadors to the 9th straight Region I Championship Game.

Angel Shamblin Named ACCAC Softball Coach, Samantha Gatson, Annissa Lagos on Postseason Squad

Yuma, Arizona - Arizona Western College announced that three members of the AWC Softball team have been named to the All-ACCAC and All-Region I postseason teams. Freshman pitcher Samantha Gatson (GATT-suhn) was named 1st Team All-ACCAC, sophomore middle infielder Annissa Lagos (uh-NEES-suh LAH-gohs) was named 2nd Team All-ACCAC, and both players were named to the All-Region I Division I postseason team. In addition, AWC Head Softball Coach Angel Shamblin was named as ACCAC Coach of the Year.

Gonzales and Schuster Garner All-MPSF Water Polo Accolades

Woodland, California - San Diego State senior water polo teammates Anna Gonzales and Jenna Schuster have captured all-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation accolades for their performance this season, the league office announced Monday. Gonzales was a second-team choice for the second consecutive year, while Schuster was an honorable mention selection.
