The Arizona Western College Matadors men's soccer team (3-6) shutout Phoenix Community College (5-5) by the score of 4-0. Abdel Becerra was dubbed “ Man of the Match” for the Matadors for his strong play and 2 goals.Matador Head Coach Kenny Dale stated, “We had a really good tactical plan at halftime. We got the early goals, so all of the chasing was Phoenix’s responsibility, and we were able to defend and counter so we were very effective. It was a very competitive game, and I think our guys have committed psychologically to defending, and that’s the biggest difference in our performance the last couple of games. Phoenix College is one of those teams that was ahead of us in the standings-and they still are-but we’re climbing back.”
