The 18^th Ranked Arizona Western College Lady Matadors' Volleyball team (3-1) swept South Mountain Community College (7-4) in straight games 30-24, 30-20, and 30-26. The Lady Mats were led by Luci Toazzi (18) and Patty Paniagua (9), in kills and Mary Drauszewski’s 18 digs.

AWC Head Coach Jason Smith stated, “We threw a brand-new lineup out there that we haven’t used yet-partly because of a change that I wanted to make, and partly because of a sick player. We could have done some things better, but we really hung in there together, and played well as that unit. Any time that you can come through this kind of adversity and win a conference game on the road, you should be proud.”
