Danny McKeever, championship racer, veteran instructor and renowned stunt driver, has had many loves in his life, but none is a match for his long-standing love affair with motorsports. After a long and prosperous racing career, McKeever turned his passion for the fast lane-also the name of the racing school he owns and operates-into an opportunity to teach others. In 1986, he became the official chief instructor for the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race, part of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, training every participant for this coveted annual charity event.

Millions of Americans are injured each year, and for some it leads to disability and profoundly affects their lives and the lives of others. The good news--injuries are preventable. The Injury Center at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is working hard to implement programs that reduce injuries and their impact. CDC's "Heads Up" is one initiative that focuses on preventing and responding to concussion among young athletes.

Meet the Arizona Western College Matadors Night Scheduled

Yuma, Arizona - Arizona Western College has announced that they will host the first-ever ‘Meet the Matadors’ Night next Tuesday night, August 25th, from 4:30PM until 6:30PM at Burgers N’ Beer in Yuma. The event will showcase the players and coaches from the three fall sports at AWC-football, soccer and volleyball. There is no admission price to come to the event, and Burgers N’ Beer will be offering ‘happy hour’ specials on their food and beverages all through the proceedings.

Matador Soccer Camp Kicks Off July 20th at Arizona Western College

Yuma, Arizona - Arizona Western College announced that the 2009 Matador Soccer Camp will be held Monday through Friday, July 20th through the 24th at the AWC Soccer Field on the AWC Campus. AWC Head Soccer Coach Kenny Dale and Assistant Coach Jay VanWassenhoven-along with several current and former AWC Matadors’ soccer players-will provide expert instruction to young soccer players of all skill levels. The five-day camp is for boys and girls ages 6-14, and will run from 8:30AM to 1PM each day.
