Phoenix, Arizona - The Arizona Diamondbacks have traded outfielder Carlos Quentin to the Chicago White Sox in exchange for infielder Chris Carter (Kannapolis), as announced by Diamondbacks' Senior Vice President and General Manager Josh Byrnes.
Carter, originally a 15th round selection in the 2005 draft by Chicago, played in 126 games last season for the Kannapolis Intimidators (A), batting .291 (136-for-467) with 27 doubles, 3 triples, 25 home runs and 93 RBI. The 20-year old finished third in the South Atlantic League in home runs and tied for third in RBI, both establishing Kannapolis records, as he was named to the SAL mid- and postseason All-Star teams. Quentin, the Diamondbacks first round selection in 2003, hit .214 (49-for-229) with 5 home runs and 31 RBI in 81 games last season with Arizona. |
