 Beginning Tuesday, August 14, the San Diego Padres will host a six-game homestand, playing three games against the Colorado Rockies, followed by three games versus the Houston Astros. Tickets remain for each game, although only approximately 2,000 tickets are available for Saturday's 7:05 p.m. game versus Houston.
Tuesday's 7:05 p.m. Rockies-Padres game is highlighted by the annual Dog Days of Summer, presented by PETCO. The event is again sold out for dogs, which will be able to take in the ballgame with their owners and enjoy treats and activities in designated dog-friendly areas of the ballpark. Pre-game activities will include dogs and owners participating in a parade in which they can enjoy a walk on the PETCO Park playing field. The A-Team Frisbee Dogs will entertain fans before the game. The dogs and trainers are from El Cajon and are members of Southern California Disc Dogs. Wednesday's game, also a 7:05 p.m. Rockies-Padres tilt, will include a visit from guests from Rady Children's Hospital. Padres outfielder Brian Giles is again hosting the youngsters who will watch batting practice and meet Padres players before taking in the game. Thursday's Colorado-San Diego series finale is a 7:05 p.m. start and will include a Cricket demonstration before the game. The demonstration of the ancient game is in conjunction with the Federation of India Association of San Diego. Friday's 7:05 p.m. game features the Padres fourth annual Fiesta con los Padres, presented by the Union-Tribune's Enlace. Activities include a postgame concert by the B-Side Players. Admission to the Park at the Park concert is free with a game ticket. Other activities will include a Fiesta Village that includes an art display, as well as pre-game entertainment celebrating Latino culture. Saturday's 7:05 p.m. San Diego-Houston game includes Padres Sports Bags for all fans in attendance, thanks to the California Center for Sustainable Energy. Kids 14 and younger who attend Sunday's 1:05 p.m. homestand finale will take home a Padres Backpack, compliments of Mission Federal Credit Union.
