Wells made five appearances this spring, going 1-0 with a 5.06 ERA (3 ER/5.1 IP). Headley hit .333 (14-for-42) with three doubles, one triple, four home runs, 14 RBI and eight runs scored in 21 games. With today's moves, the Padres now have 38 players in Major League camp, including 33 players from the 40-man roster and five non-roster invitees. |
Peoria, Arizona - The San Diego Padres announced today that they have optioned right-handed pitcher Jared Wells and outfielder Chase Headley to Triple-A Portland. Executive Vice President/General Manager Kevin Towers made the announcement.
