The San Diego Chargers and the San Diego Police Department are taking a firm stance with ticket holders who violate the team’s Code of Conduct during games at Qualcomm Stadium. Last season violations of the policy resulted in the cancellation of more than 10 season ticket accounts. This affected nearly 40 seats. These violations involved disruptive behavior that included public drunkenness, yelling obscenities and fighting.

Fans that had their season ticket privileges revoked are permanently banned from future purchase of Chargers Season Tickets.

“We have a very clear and strict Code of Conduct in place at our games to help us assure that all fans have the best experience possible,” said Chargers Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Jim Steeg.  “We are not going to let the inappropriate actions of a few ruin game day for others.”

The team’s Code of Conduct includes refraining from excessive consumption of alcohol; obscene, offensive or abusive language or actions; fighting or otherwise dangerous, abusive or profane behavior; unruly or inconsiderate behavior; indecent exposure or undressing; wearing obscene or indecent clothing; interfering with security procedures and interfering with the progress of the game; going onto the field, and throwing objects onto the field or the stadium premises.

In addition, the City of San Diego has been actively enforcing a city ordinance that prohibits smoking anywhere inside the stadium. Violations of this ordinance resulted in 14 fans being ejected from last Sunday’s game against Seattle. This ordinance is being enforced by both the San Diego Police Department and stadium security as is the City ordinance prohibiting the use of glass bottles or containers in the parking lot.
