San Diego, California - The San Diego Chargers have re-signed unrestricted free agent offensive lineman Kynan Forney to a two-year deal. Forney originally signed a one-year deal with the Chargers on September 1, 2008, but did not see any game action during the ’08 season. He is a nine-year veteran who played seven seasons with Atlanta where he started 88 of 95 games played. Most of his action has been at guard, where he was named a first alternate to the Pro Bowl in 2005. The Falcons led the NFL in rushing three straight seasons from 2004-06, and during that time Forney was considered the club’s best offensive lineman. The University of Hawaii product has some familiarity with the Chargers coaching staff. Chargers running backs coach Ollie Wilson held the same position in Atlanta for six of Forney’s seven seasons with the club. |
