NBC’s broadcast team of Al Michaels, John Madden and Andrea Kremer will call the action. Kickoff set for 5:15 pm PST. The Chargers’ 41-24 win at Tampa Bay last Sunday, combined with Buffalo’s 30-23 win over the Broncos at Invesco Field, set up Sunday night’s title tilt. Kings of the AFC West at 4-1, the Chargers own the best division record in the AFC West in 2008. Over the last five seasons (since 2004), the Bolts are 22-7 (.759) in AFC West play. They have won two straight division titles and since the NFL realigned the divisions in 2002, the Chargers are the only AFC West team to win back-to-back titles. December Dynamos: The Chargers will host the Broncos having won 13 games in a row in the month of December, including seven in a row at home. Coincidentally, San Diego’s last loss in December was a 23-7 season-ending loss to the Broncos at home in 2005. Series History: Denver won this season’s first meeting to improve their all-time series ledger to 53-43-1. The Chargers however have won four of the last five overall and three of the last four in San Diego. The Chargers have outscored the Broncos by a combined 71-23 in their last two wins in San Diego. All-time, the Chargers are 29-18 in series games played in San Diego. This will be the 11th time the Chargers and Broncos have met in a regular-season finale. San Diego is 6-4 in those games and 5-2 in the ones played in San Diego. |
