 Phoenix Coyotes President and Chief Operating Officer Douglas Moss announced today the Coyotes’ schedule for the 2007-08 National Hockey League season. The Coyotes will play a total of 82 regular season games (41 home, 41 away) as well as eight preseason games (3 home, 5 away) in 2007-08. The Coyotes will open the regular season by hosting the St. Louis Blues on Oct. 4 at Jobing.com Arena and conclude against the Anaheim Ducks on Apr. 6. The team kicks off the season with a home game every Saturday night in October. This season, home game time for Thursday-Saturday contests will be 7:00 p.m. Six Tuesday and Wednesday games will now begin at 7:30 p.m. Game time for the Coyotes’ two home Sunday contests will be 6:00 p.m. Additionally, Coyotes’ games will be a holiday event at Jobing.com on several occasions this season. The club will host the Colorado Avalanche in a New Year’s Eve game which will begin at 6:00 p.m. The Eastern Conference finalist Buffalo Sabres will visit the Coyotes for a Martin Luther King Day 2:00 p.m. matinee on Jan. 22. The Coyotes will face the Dallas Stars in a home game on Valentine’s Day at 7:00 p.m. The Coyotes will play 15 home games on Saturdays this season. Two ‘Original Six’ clubs – the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs - will play their first ever games at Jobing.com Arena this season. The storied Montreal Canadiens will make their first visit to The Valley since Mar. 5, 2004. SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN In addition to their inter-conference schedule, the Coyotes will host each team from the Eastern Conference’s Northeast Division (Boston, Buffalo, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto) once in 2007-08. The club will also visit every team in the Atlantic Division (New Jersey, NY Islanders, NY Rangers, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh) one time each this season. As usual under the current schedule format, the Coyotes will face each of the rivals in their own Pacific Division (Anaheim, Dallas, Los Angeles and San Jose) eight times throughout the season (4 home, 4 away). The Coyotes will play all other Western Conference opponents (from the Northwest and Central Divisions) four times each (2 home, 2 away). The Coyotes will host a pair of five-game home stands (Jan. 15–24 and Mar. 6-15) in 2007-08, their longest of the season. The team’s longest road stretch of the season is six games (Dec. 8-20). The 2008 NHL All-Star Game will be played at Phillips Arena in Atlanta on Jan. 27 as the Coyotes will have a break between their games on Jan. 24 versus Nashville and Jan. 29 at Columbus. The Coyotes’ eight-game preseason schedule includes back-to-back games against the Maple Leafs as the clubs will meet in Winnipeg on Sept. 19 and in Toronto on Sept. 20. It will be the Sabres’ first visit to Jobing.com Arena and first to Arizona since Jan. 18, 2003. February 14 – The Dallas Stars will be in town for a Valentine’s Day game at 7:00 p.m. March 8 – Stanley Cup finalists, the Ottawa Senators, make their first visit to Jobing.com Arena since Jan. 29, 2004. April 3 – The Dallas Stars visit for the regular season finale and Fan Appreciation Night.
