Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced that the Coyotes will hold a rookie summer conditioning camp July 6-11 at Desert Schools Coyotes Center in Peoria. All sessions will be free and open to the public. A full schedule of practice times will be released at a later date.Twenty two (22) of the Coyotes’ top prospects are expected to attend the camp including center Kyle Turris, the Coyotes’ top draft choice (3rd overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Former first round draft selections Blake Wheeler (2004), Martin Hanzal (2005), Peter Mueller (2006) and Chris Summers (2006) will also attend. The camp will provide players with NHL coaching and instruction in both on- and off-ice workout sessions. The camp will also focus on conditioning, strength, power and agility training fundamentals, high speed skill development, and nutrition. “We’re extremely excited to see the future of the Coyotes on the ice in Peoria,” said Maloney. “The instruction they gain from our coaching staff will benefit them immensely and will fast track their road to the NHL.” The coaching staff for the 2007 Phoenix Coyotes Summer Conditioning Camp will include Coyotes’ Head Coach Wayne Gretzky, Associate Coach Ulf Samuelsson, Goaltending Coach Grant Fuhr, Coyotes’ Director of Player Development Eddie Mio, Strength and Conditioning Coordinator Mike Bahn and Power Skating Coach Mark Ciaccio. The following is a list of players expected to attend the camp:
