The San Diego State women’s swimming and diving team was picked to finish eighth in the 2007-08 Mountain West Conference regular season standings, as voted on by the league’s head coaches. The Aztecs, under first-year head coach Mike Shrader, received 18 points, finishing ahead of Air Force (ninth place, 12).

BYU was tabbed as the conference favorite with 72 points (eight first-place votes), while UNLV collected the other first-place vote and was predicted to finish second with 63 points. Utah claimed the third spot with 55 points and was followed by Wyoming (46), Colorado State (39), TCU (32) and New Mexico (23).

San Diego State will open its regular season on Oct. 27, when it hosts MWC-foes Air Force, Colorado State and New Mexico. The quad-meet will mark SDSU’s first-ever swimming and diving competition to be held at the Aztec Aquaplex.
