The Aztecs fall to 3-1 on the year, while Washington won its fifth-straight match to improve to 5-1.

In three tightly played doubles matches, SDSU was only able to pull out one victory as Julia Trunk and Esther Cadua defeated Aleksandra Malovic and Melinda Wong, 9-8 (4), at the No. 3 position.

Trunk, who is ranked No. 61 in the nation, also had the Aztecs’ lone singles victory as she downed Malovic, 6-4, 6-2, at the No. 2 spot. Eliska Krausova put up a fight on court 3, but ended up falling in three sets to Tara Simpson. The Huskies were able to clinch the match with a win at the No. 4 position, as Joyce Ardies handed Cadua her first dual-match loss.

San Diego State will be back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 6, when No. 69 Loyola Marymount makes its way to the Aztec Tennis Center for a 1 p.m. match.
