Kansas City, Missouri - San Diego State junior forward Lorrenzo Wade has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) all-District 13 second team, the organization announced Tuesday. Wade, who hails from Las Vegas, Nev., is averaging a team-best 15.4 points per game and 3.3 assists through 29 games. He is also averaging 4.7 rebounds and is shooting 46.7 percent from the field. In Mountain West Conference games, Wade has elevated his game by averaging 16.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists. He is one of only three players who currently rank in the top 10 in the MWC in points, rebounds and assists during league play.
The junior has played in every game this season and earned the starting assignment 28 times, while scoring in double figures on 24 different occasions. Of his 24 double-digit scoring efforts, seven have been of the 20-plus point variety, including his career-high of 28 in the home victory over Brigham Young.
Wade also has a pair of double-doubles to his credit as he went for 11 points and a career-best 13 rebounds vs. Wyoming and tallied 18 points and 10 rebounds at Colorado State. In his last outing vs. CSU at home, Wade nearly missed San Diego State’s first triple-double after he posted eight points, eight rebounds and a personal-best 11 assists.
