San Diego State to Compete at NCAAWest Regional Track Championships PDF Print E-mail

San Diego, California - San Diego State returns to the track on Friday for the NCAA West Regional Championships following a 12-day layoff. The two-day meet, where national championship bids will be up for grabs, is set for Matador Track Complex on the campus of Cal State Northridge.

SDSU qualified 15 athletes over the course of the season, matching the 2006 squad for the second-most in school history.

Action begins on Friday for the Aztecs at 1:30 p.m. PT with the pole vault where four athletes will compete. Saturday competition, meanwhile, will commence for SDSU at 3 p.m. beginning with the triple jump and will conclude with the running of the 4x400-meter relay at 6:05 p.m.

San Diego State enters the regional meet having not competed since taking third place at the Mountain West Conference Championships, May 14-17, in Fort Worth, Texas.
