Aztec Quick Hits
* Alabama A&M is 7-7-1 heading into its match against Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday. The Bulldogs are coming off a 4-3 upset victory at No. 17 Duke, and have had impressive games against Memphis, San Francisco and Santa Clara. See Scouting the Bulldogs,
* With the loss at Washington on Oct. 19, the Aztecs also ended an eight-game unbeaten streak in Pac-10 play. SDSU is still 6-4-3 over the last 13 conference games, dating back to last season, the second-best record among all league teams over that period. In Pac-10 play this season, San Diego State is third with 12 points and a 4-4-0 record, one point shy of first-place UCLA (13 points), which has played one more game then the Aztecs. * San Diego State is receiving votes by Soccer America in the latest national poll, but is getting no recognition from the other four polls. See SDSUReceiving Votes from Soccer Times,
* SDSU’s defense has been the cornerstone of this year’s team once again. The team has seven shutouts and has held three teams without a shot on goal. What’s even more remarkable about the 2007 defense is that it consists of no seniors. See The Ball Stops Here,
* SDSU’s Kraig Chiles, who started for the 55th consecutive game on Sunday, has five goals on 22 shots over his last seven matches. He leads the Aztecs in points (17), goals (seven), shots (53) and shots on goal (22). See The Man in the Middle,
* San Diego State has played three games on Nov. 11, going 2-1 with its only loss coming last season at UCSanta Barbara in the first round of the NCAAtournament. See Notes,
